05. Whirlwind - Si alza il vento ~Blazing Resolution~
Romeo and Juliet lie tangled on the floor after Romeo saves her from falling into the fire and after a moment of awkwardness and surprise Cielo's whining kicks Romeo back to his senses and he leaves in a rush to let Juliet get dressed. When she comes out she gives him her coat since his shirt got burned and when Romeo asks her why is she dressed as a boy Juliet avoids the question.
Meanwhile the city has been placed under martial law and the peoples food has been rationed severely (to the point some might starve) until the Red Whirlwind is captured. Conrad warns everyone (Antonio. Cordelia, Francisco, and Curio) not to tell Juliet of what's going on. Romeo drops Juliet off at the iris field and she agrees they they will see each other again. She rushes home where Willy teases her about her 'date' then tells her to have a happy love. After helping Cordelia with dinner, Juliet asks her to teach her how to sew a shirt (to replace Romeo's burned one) and Cordelia tells her that maybe she should try first to sew a handkerchief with his initials. At the same time romeo is at his house thinking about Juliet and for a brief moment he connects the dots about Juliet disguising as a boy and the Red Whirlwind having the scent of irises, but quickly disregards the idea since someone so cute couldn't be the man his father is so desperately hunting down.
The next day in town the people are getting desperate to feed their families and some are starting to break under the despair and accuse people falsely of being the Red Whirlwind just to get some food. Romeo learns of the situation when Benvolio tells him ad he expresses his desire to stop it, but Benvolio tells him that there is nothing eh can do now, that he won't be able to do anything until he succeeds his father as Duke. The people being accused of being the Red Whirlwind are being imprisoned in the town square, while observing, Lancelot catches the Friar giving information to Cerimon (the captain of the guards) and confronts him at the church unsuccessfully. He returns to the the square where he recognizes Curio from the time he was with the Red Whirlwind and requests to meet with Conrad and in a secret meeting Conrad admits to him that the 'iris' (Juliet) is safe and alive.
Antonio lets it slip to Juliet that something is going on in the town and she rushes there as Odin followed by Antonio and Cordelia. She arrives at the square to find the townspeople are all in turmoil pleading to the guards to release their love ones that have been falsely accused as the Red Whirlwind. Juliet doesn't hesitate in wanting to act, but is stopped by Francisco and Curio who tell her they are too outnumbered to do anything. Juliet still tries to pas them and Curio backhands her hard enough to make her fall telling her how she allowed herself to get distracted by a nobleman's son and that that isn't the girl they have protected all those years. Francisco tries to reassure her, but Juliet still runs seemingly intent of doing something about the situation when Lancelot comes out of nowhere and stops her. He tells Juliet that she's just like he imagined and to please give Neo-Verona a future before running off and without Juliet unable to stop him. Lancelot runs into the square disguised as the Red Whirlwind where Cerimon proclaims that the trap has worked.
